Clearly. I don’t think anyone concerned about privacy and the rise of authoritarianism globally would disagree with that. And plenty of journalists are working to hold the U.S. government accountable, particularly the whole staff at The Intercept; Charlie Savage, Mark Mazzetti and others at The New York Times; Barton Gellman at The Washington Post, etc. etc.
I have a feeling you won’t have to put up with the U.S. preaching much longer, though. The Trump administration—with its immigration bans and citizenship revocations for flag burning—has neither the moral standing to lecture dictators nor the interest.
