It seems like he’s decided to stay away from the problem by ignoring it and moving along with the program: Choice and capital punishment are legal, so Kaine-the-elected-official is for both. On the other hand, he has a godlike role in death penalty cases, where he must make a decision; with abortion, he has far less influence because any reform would have to go through two other branches of government.
