This whole thing now is about tradeoffs. Americans have decided having a gun in the closet is worth having it shoot a few thousand children every year. Maybe having an armed guard and a metal detector at the Mandalay Bay or the Pulse is worth the price of stopping the next Las Vegas. Or maybe the inconvenience or more frequent weapons searches will push gun control legislation.
